A BRIGHT FUTURE
FOR COMMUNITIES
OUR STORY
Kaz’O‘zah is an ethical fashion organization founded in 2012 in Burundi in response to over 80% of the population living on less than $2 USD per day. We bring fashion to the forefront of social impact as we address poverty and income inequality in some of Burundi’s poorest communities and among the most vulnerable – women and youth. As a social enterprise we aim to improve the lives of artisans by providing them with the skills, support, and market access to achieve their full potential.
Artisans are trained to specialize in the design and production of contemporary fashion and craft made from wood, leather, fabric, and sustainable local natural products. They are also taught financial literacy through basic business, entrepreneurship, and savings and loans. After graduation, we find local and international market opportunities for trained artisans that they would not have access to on their own.
In 2017, Kaz’O’zah expanded into Kampala to bring the Kaz’O’zah vision to Uganda. As we continue to grow, we hope to expand further into East Africa.
WE ARE PROUDLY EAST AFRICAN.
Mission
Our mission is to break the cycle of poverty by equipping communities with vocational skills, financial literacy, and investment opportunities to enable them to be self-sufficient and economically empowered.

Vision
Our vision is to see an economically and socially empowered East Africa, that is vibrant and free from poverty.
